Motorcycle licence requirements

If you have a learner’s license you may operate a powered motorcycle on public roads in Zimbabwe. However, you are not to carry passengers on auto-cycles or motorcycles.
You must be over 16 years old to be allowed to sit for a learner’s license exam.

Your vehicle must be registered and licensed within the Traffic Regulations of the country.

General advice

Protective Clothing

You MUST always wear a protective helmet with fasteners to hold it firmly in place.
A helmet with a clear visor is advisable and always check that it is clean and unscratched.
Strong boots, gloves and padded clothing may help to protect you if you are involved in a collision or fall.

When riding in the dark or weather with poor visibility, wear reflective clothing or strips to improve your visibility to other road users.
